2. Data Collection via Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how users interact with Realoud. This helps us improve the app experience. The following data may be collected:

• Device information (model, OS version).
• App usage statistics (features used, session duration).
• Geographic location (city/country level only).
• In-app purchase events.

Google Analytics uses identifiers to distinguish users, but we do not associate this data with your name or identity.

3. On-Device Processing (Offline Privacy)

A core feature of Realoud is on-device translation and speech synthesis. We want to emphasize that:

• Your books are private: Text from your .epub or .mobi files is processed locally on your device using the Apple Neural Engine.
• No content upload: We do not upload the content of your books to our servers or any third-party servers.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your data based on the following legal grounds:

• Consent: When you allow us to use analytics during the first app launch.
• Legitimate Interest: To improve app stability and performance.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the data we have about you.
• The right to request deletion of your data.
• The right to withdraw consent for analytics at any time via App Settings.
• The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your EU Member State.

6. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for as long as necessary to provide insights for app improvements, typically not exceeding 14 months, as per Google Analytics default settings.
